New Disability Income Insurance Benefits Available Now

American Fidelity is pleased to announce exciting enhancements to your Disability Income Insurance Plan, designed to help provide greater financial protection and peace of mind during challenging times. Best of all, these upgraded benefits come with no change in premium—though you’ll need to complete a new application and election form to take advantage of them.
Key Enhancements to the New Disability Income Insurance Plan:
- Higher Short-Term Disability Income Coverage: The benefit percentage has increased from 75% to 80% of your daily contracted salary, offering more robust financial support during short-term disability periods.
- Increased Paid Sick Leave Benefit: The daily benefit has doubled, increasing from $25 to $50 per day, helping to ensure better coverage while on paid sick leave.
- New Physician Expense Benefits: Receive up to 8 Physician Expense Benefits for outpatient doctor visits, including:
- $150 benefit for covered injuries
- $50 benefit for covered illnesses
- Extended Coverage for Mental Illness and Substance Abuse: Claims for mental health conditions and substance abuse are now covered for up to two years.
- Elimination of Special Conditions Limitation: Where applicable, the special conditions limitation has been removed, helping to provide more inclusive coverage.
- Extended Long-Term Benefits: The long-term disability benefit period has been extended to Social Security Normal Retirement Age.
